Patty Reisenbichler, coordinator for the fair entry department, said: "We have never attempted anything of this magnitude before. Folks who like to cook but don't like to take the time to can or preserve food will want to enter."

Prizes of $100, $50 and $25 plus ribbons, aprons and award certificates will be given to participants with the most tasteful and creative recipes.

There is no pre-entry and all judges are local.

Reisenbichler said those entering may bring their dishes to the R&R tent on Saturday of the fair. For contest guidelines, call Reisenbichler at 243-8131.
