WEST FRANKFORT, Ill. (AP) -- A substitute teacher in the southern Illinois community of West Frankfort is accused of bringing a gun to school.
Franklin County prosecutors have charged 26-year-old Jeremiah Mandrell of West Frankfort with two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
Police say Mandrell was arrested Monday at Central Junior High School after the principal reported that Mandrell had a gun.
Authorities say Mandrell also taught at Frankfort Community High School, where he had a verbal confrontation with a student last Friday.
Police aren't saying whether the gun was loaded or how the principal knew Mandrell supposedly had it.
Mandrell is jailed, waiting for a bond to be set.
