Southern Illinois man accused of growing marijuana plants

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Union County State's Attorney Tyler R. Edmonds announced Friday in a news release that Jeffery R. Flemming, 40, of 495 Wagon Wheel Road in rural Wolf Lake, Ill., has been charged with one count of unlawful production of marijuana plants, a class three felony. Flemming was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff's Office and Union County Drug Task Force. Flemming allegedly grew more than 20 marijuana plants on the property of his Wagon Wheel Road residence. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 30 at the Union County Courthouse in Jonesboro.
