Total first-day spring semester enrollment is up 1.5 percent at Southeast Missouri State University, according to a preliminary enrollment report compiled after the first full day of classes of the spring 2014 semester, a university news release said.
Classes at Southeast began Tuesday.
Combined undergraduate and graduate student head count is 10,656, up from 10,502 at this time last year, the release said. Southeast currently has 9,532 undergraduate and 1,124 graduate students enrolled, the release said.
Transfer student enrollment stands at 320, up from 286 at this time a year ago, the release said. African-American student head count is 935, up from 884 at this time last year, and international student head count is 968, up from 813 after the first day of classes in spring 2013, the release said.
The report, issued Friday, showed high school enrollment is 463, up from 275 at this time last year, according to the release.
The first-day census report also shows Southeast currently has 958 degree seeking master's degree students enrolled, up 8 percent from this time in 2013. The official census report will be issued in four weeks.
