SoutheastHEALTH will host a Healthcare Professionals Camp this summer for high school juniors and seniors who are considering careers in health care.
Campers will shadow nurses and other health-care professionals in patient care areas, earn CPR certification, learn to use a stethoscope, take blood pressure and talk with SoutheastHEALTH College of Nursing and Health Sciences faculty and graduates.
Campers also will have an opportunity to learn about specialty areas, such as pediatrics, surgery, intensive care, labor and delivery, emergency services and radiology, according to a news release.
The camp is held at SoutheastHEALTH College of Nursing and Health Sciences and various clinical sites in Cape Girardeau.
A $300 tuition includes all meals, instructional materials, T-shirts and transportation to all hospital clinicals and recreation events. Two nights lodging in a Southeast Missouri State University dormitory is included.
The camp is will be June 14 to 16, and the enrollment deadline is May 7.
