Southeast Missouri State University's
Symphonic Wind Ensemble and the Cape Girardeau Central Senior High School Concert
Band will present a joint concert Tuesday in the Central High School Auditorium at 7:30
p.m.
The University's Wind Ensemble is composed of 41 students selected through
competitive audition. The ensemble's portion of the concert will feature composer Howard
Hanson's Laude; four Scottish folk songs by English composer Malcolm Arnold; Percy
Grainger's Colonial Song; and David Bedford's new composition, Sun Paints Rainbows. A
march written by Norwegian composer Geir Knutson will also be featured.
The Cape Central Concert Band, directed by Ron Nall and Neil Casey, will perform
Missouri composer Claude T. Smith's Chorale and Allegro, W.A. Mozart's Il re Pastore, and
an arrangement of Malaguena.
Admission to the concert is free.
