Southeast Missouri State University will offer a slate of off-campus courses this fall as part of its ongoing University Studies Program in Sikeston.
The courses, to begin the week of Aug. 30, will run for 13 to 14 weeks, meeting one night a week from 6 to 9:15 p.m. in the Sikeston Area Vocational School. This ongoing program delivers freshmen and sophomore level courses for the benefit of residents of Sikeston and surrounding communities who are unable to attend courses on the Southeast campus in Cape Girardeau.
The University Studies courses to be offered on Mondays are: GH 105-75 American Civilization; LI 220-75 Fiction and the Human Experience; PS 103-75 U.S. Political Systems; and PY 101-75 Psyc Perspectives on Human Behavior.
The University Studies courses to be offered on Tuesdays are: EC 101-75 Economic Problems and Policies; GS 101-75 Creative and Critical Thinking; MA 134-75 College Algebra; and SC 105-75 Fundamentals of Oral Communication.
The University Studies course to be offered on Wednesdays is BS 105-75 Environmental Biology, and on Thursdays are TH 100-75 Theatre Appreciation and EN 100-75 English Composition. Students who enroll in EN 100 must have successfully completed EN 099 or have achieved an acceptable score on the English Department placement exam.
Other courses not meeting the University Studies requirement to be offered in Sikeston are: MA 090-75 Developmental Algebra on Tuesdays; MA 095-75 Intermediate Algebra on Wednesdays; and MG 151-75 Contemporary Business on Thursdays.
Course registration will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 26 in the cafeteria of the Sikeston Area Vocational School.
