The Department of Theatre and Dance at Southeast Missouri State University will hold its annual Senior Showcase, a cabaret for graduating seniors, at 7:30 p.m. May 8 and 9 in the Rust Flexible Theatre at Southeast's River Campus.

A reception will follow both performances in the Glenn Convocation Center.

The Senior Showcase assists in professionally promoting graduating seniors, who will perform for invited agents, casting directors and professional actors from New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Select seniors will perform songs, monologues and dance pieces they have perfected through on-campus workshops presented by invited professionals.

Those performing in the musical theater/acting numbers are Sarah Anderson of Belleville, Illinois; Anna Hebrank of Kirkwood, Missouri; Hannah Lundy of Columbia, Illinois; and Allison Wolz of Cape Girardeau.

Those performing dance numbers will be Amy Coyle of Ballwin, Missouri; Sam Fink of St. Louis; Kaitlynn Keller of Springfield, Missouri; Corey Meyer of St. Louis; Shannon O'Keefe of Festus, Missouri; Jessica Parra of Cameron, Missouri; Tiffany Richards of Perry, Missouri; Colleen Spoden of Paducah, Kentucky; and Garret Welker of Jackson.

Those in the design/technology area are Matthew Buttrey of Cape Girardeau; Ali Howell of St. Louis; Evyn Johnson of St. Louis; Erin Meadows of Chesterfield, Missouri; and Courtney Rigdon of Sedalia, Missouri.

Based on their performances throughout this academic year, theater and dance students have been selected to advance to New York to perform May 19 before agents, casting directors, industry professionals, alumni and friends of the university. The New York City Showcase is scheduled for 2 p.m. Those selected will perform at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at West Bank Café, 407 W. 42nd St. in Manhattan.

Those selected to perform in the New York City Showcase are Anderson, Hebrank, Lundy and Wolz.

The Cape Girardeau Senior Showcase is open to the public. Reservations may be made with a donation to the Department of Theatre and Dance by calling 651-2149.
