Travis T. Tyler, 21, of Hazelwood, Missouri, turned himself in to the Jackson County, Illinois, Sheriff’s Department on Monday, according to police in Carbondale, Illinois.

Tyler, a Southeast Missouri State University student, is charged with aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm after a shooting March 27 in Carbondale.

Two men allegedly involved with the shooting that occurred at a party in the 400 block of West Walnut Street in Carbondale, are in custody: John F. Ingram, 21, of Webster Groves, Missouri, and Dwayne J. Dunn, 21, of St. Louis, who also are Southeast students.

Ingram faces the same charges as Tyler. Dunn has been charged with reckless discharge of a firearm.

A fourth suspect, Daniel D. Holmes, 21, of Carbondale is charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and reckless discharge of a firearm from the same incident. Carbondale police report he still is at large.

Carbondale police went to a shots-fired call in the early morning hours of March 27 and found one victim, Nehemiah Greenlee, who was suffering from a gunshot wound that was described as not life-threatening.

As police investigated, they found the body of Tim Beaty, 41, of Carbondale who was struck and killed by a stray bullet while he was inside his home. There have not been any charges linked to Beaty’s death.
