Southeast professor named to court committee

Business law professor Mary Moore Johnson of Southeast Missouri State University has been appointed to serve on Missouri's Supreme Court Committee on Civic Education. According to a university news release, Moore Johnson will serve on the 18-member committee as its higher education representative. The committee is made up of judges, court staff, representatives from the Missouri Bar, educators and members of the public. The committee's goal is to enhance public understanding of the state court system and its function, thereby enhancing public trust and confidence in the judicial branch of government, according to the release. Moore Johnson holds a juris doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law and a master's degree in business administration degree from Missouri State University. Moore Johnson has been admitted to practice law in Missouri and is a member of the Supreme Court of the United States Bar, the Missouri Bar and the Cape Girardeau Bar. She is also an active member of three Missouri Bar committees and participates in the National Association of Women Judges Conference. She has been teaching at the university for 14 years.
