Southeast president to speak at Friday chamber event

Southeast Missouri State University president Carlos Vargas-Aburto will be the featured speaker this week at First Friday Coffee held by the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce.

This marks Vargas’ first time addressing the chamber at such an event.

First Friday Coffee is held on the first Friday of every month at Isle Casino Cape Girardeau’s Event Center. They feature presentations from sponsors, followed by programs covering community, civic and business issues.

Sponsors this month are Hendrickson Business Advisors and Wells Fargo Advisors.

Doors open and a continental breakfast is served starting at 7 a.m. The program begins at 7:40 a.m.

The event is open to chamber members, and there is no cost to attend.
