Southeast Missouri State University has narrowed its presidential search to eight candidates.
The field was narrowed from an earlier pool of 14 candidates during a six-hour meeting Monday.
"Everything went very well," said Regent Don Dickerson, who chaired the committee meeting. He said the committee won't disclose any information about the eight candidates at this time.
The committee will interview the candidates in March, probably in St. Louis.
The committee then will recommend three to five finalists, whose names will be made public. The final decision rests with the Board of Regents.
