There will be a new face to greet students coming to Southeast Missouri State University this fall.
Dr. Theresa Haug-Belvin was recently named director of student transitions, according to a university news release. She replaces Dr. Leon Book, who retired from Southeast in May.
Haug-Belvin previously worked as assistant director of new student programs and has been working with the university since 2001.
As director, she will oversee orientation, opening week activities and the Career Linkages program, which gives students career assessments, resume assistance and help with internships.
The programs are set up to guide students to transitions during their time at the university, said Dr. Debbie Below, assistant vice president for enrollment management and director of admissions.
"Her office is very important to providing students with the services that they need to be successful while they're here," Below said.
Haug-Belvin will also sit on two committees to help identify long-term and short-term enrollment goals for the university.
