Dr. Duane M. Ford has been named the new chairman of Southeast Missouri State University's agriculture department.

The appointment, which carries the rank of professor with tenure, was recently approved by the Board of Regents.

Ford replaces Dr. Danny Terry, who resigned last year to accept a position with Western Illinois University at Macomb. Dr. William Meyer has been serving as interim chairman.

Ford has served as associate division head in the science division at Northeast Missouri State University at Kirksville.

He has been a visiting scholar at the Center for Biotechnology Policy and Ethics at Texas A&M University; a participant in the fellowship program of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in Battle Creek, Mich., and a post-doctoral research associate in the biological sciences department at the University of Illinois-Chicago.

From 1977-1979, he was co-owner of Ford Farm Products Inc. of Tonica, Ill.
