How often do you read obituaries in the Southeast Missourian? How many people read your copy of the newspaper? What other newspapers do you read? What are your suggestions to make the newspaper better?

The Southeast Missourian wants to know what you really think.

The Southeast Missourian is conducting a local reader survey, seeking opinions on the content of the newspaper, what you read, don't read and your evaluation.

The free online poll can be taken anonymously at www.pulseresearch.com/semissourian.

Those who want to leave their name, address and phone number can register for a prize pack which includes two nights in St. Louis, four movie passes and a one-year subscription to the Southeast Missourian.

Advertising director Donna Denson said the survey also asks questions about spending habits, where you shop and what types of items you most frequently purchase.

Denson said the information will help the newspaper help serve readers and advertisers better.

"We want to continue to provide a professional, high-quality local community newspaper that is committed to covering the events and issues that are important to you," Denson said.

She said the results will be used to implement changes.

The results will be tabulated by Pulse Research Inc., a national newspaper firm in Portland, Ore.

Denson said the reader survey will be secure, private and will only take about 10-15 minutes.
