A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 9 a.m. today for parts of Southeast Missouri. Light freezing rain and freezing drizzle are possible in some areas. Affected counties include Bollinger and Cape Girardeau.

The National Weather Service said some minor icing has been reported mainly on elevated surfaces. Road department officials reported they continued to treat roads.

Those traveling in the advisory area should exercise caution. The weather service said a light coating could develop on road surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses. Elevated and walking surfaces may also see a light coating.

Today's forecast calls for more rain and a temperature of 38 degrees, with gusts fluctuating between 14 and 18 mph. Gusts could reach as high as 30 mph.
