Southeast Missouri State University hosts free financial aid help sessions

The Southeast Missouri State University financial services department is holding a FAFSA Frenzy event this Sunday afternoon in Cape Girardeau and Sikeston to assist families with filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

The FAFSA is required to receive any federal loans, grants, or work-study money. Southeast financial services director Karen Walker said experts will be on hand to go through your form and make sure it's filled out correctly to make you eligible for the most money.

Walker said high school seniors and their parents should bring their tax returns, W-2s, and any investment information with them. Plus, each student who attends will be eligible for a drawing for two, $50 gift cards to Amazon.com. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Dempster Hall and at the university's Sikeston campus.
