The theme for Southeast Missouri State University's Homecoming is Dare to Dream. Events kick off Wednesday. Here is a list of events; for more information, visit www.semo.edu.
Wednesday
- 7 p.m. at the University Center Ballroom: Man and Woman of the Year Recognition Dinner, acknowledging members of the 2007 Homecoming Court.
Thursday
- 6:30 p.m. at the University Center: 25-Year Club reunion, a dinner for faculty of 25 years or more.
Friday
- 5 p.m. at the Delta Chi house: Delta Chi will hold an open house.
- 6 p.m. at the Bedell Performance Hall on the River Campus: Copper Dome Society/Merit Award Recognition Program, honoring Merit Award recipients. Museum and venue tours will follow and will include performances. Cost is $25.
- 8 p.m. at the Pike Memorial Lodge: Pi Kappa Alpha alumni cocktail party.
Saturday
- 7:30 a.m. at the Wehking Alumni Center, 926 Broadway: Alumni Breakfast, honoring Distinguished Service Award recipients. Cost is $10. Tours of the relocated center will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- 9:30 a.m. at Capaha Park, extending to Main Street: Homecoming parade. Members of Sigma Tau Gamma will hold a breakfast at their parade site, one block east of Houck Stadium on Broadway.
- 11 a.m. Southeast tailgate party: Free food will be served, the band Flashback will play, and the Golden Eagles Marching Band, the Southeast cheerleaders and the Sundancers will perform at the Athletics Tailgate Gathering.
Other tailgates include a Residence Life reunion tailgate, a Phi Beta Sigma Xi Iota chapter alumni tailgate and an Alpha Phi Alpha tailgate party. Alpha Xi Delta will host an open house from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Delta Delta Delta will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The College of Education will hold a chili cook-off at 11 a.m.
- 1 a.m. at Kent Library: Southeast Write Now: A Celebration of Southeast Authors, where a panel of university press authors will answer questions about writing and getting published.
- 11:30 a.m. at the alumni center: Luncheon for the classes of 1956 to 1959. Cost is $12.
- Noon at the Booster Corral at Houck Stadium: Booster Club tailgate.
- Noon at the Tri Sigma Lounge: Sigma Sigma Sigma alumnae brunch.
- 1 p.m. at Houck Stadium: Football game. The Southeast Redhawks play Murray State. Before the game, members of the 1957 football team will be introduced. At halftime, the Man and Woman of the Year will be crowned.
- 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the River Campus: River Campus tours.
- 3 p.m. at Marquette Tower, 338 Broadway: Diamond Club reception for alumni aged 70-plus. Cost is $10. At 4 p.m., there will be a 1957 football team reunion.
- 7 p.m. at the Upper Deck, between Spanish and Main streets: Pi Kappa Alpha dinner and dance.
Sunday
- 3 p.m. at River Campus Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall: Dedication and grand opening of the River Campus.
- 4:30 p.m. at the River Campus: Open house, tours and performances by students and faculty of the Earl and Margie Holland School of Visual and Performing Arts.
- 6 p.m. at the John and Betty Glenn Convocation Center: Presentation about "Inland Waterways: The Highways of our Heritage" mural by Gary Lucy.
- 6:30 p.m. at the Crisp Museum: Grand opening of the Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Southeast Missouri Regional Museum.
