The National Weather Service is advising Southeast Missourians, including residents of Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Perry and Scott counties, to use caution this morning on area roadways. The weather service said wet roads from rain early Wednesday night combined with temperatures below the freezing mark may lead to some areas of ice. Slick spots on area roads are possible until mid-morning.

At 8:15 a.m., the temperature in Cape Girardeau was 23 degrees, with a windchill of 14. Temperatures are expected to reach 33 degrees by 11 a.m. in Cape Girardeau.
