Tom Tipton, owner of Tipton Linen and Uniform Service, recently donated $10,000 to the Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence. He said, "I believe this is a very worthwhile cause and knowing the money benefits this area is important."

SEMO-NASV, a child advocacy center that provides forensic interviews and medical evaluations, counseling and court advocacy for child victims of physical and sexual abuse, will use a portion of the money for training law enforcement personnel on investigations and follow-up of child physical/sexual abuse cases. The contribution will also help SEMO-NASV continue providing free services to victims and their families.

The agency, almost a decade old, has cared for more than 2,000 victims. It has provided sexual abuse prevention education to more than 9,000 school children during 2005 and coordinated services with Missouri Children's Division, Juvenile Offices and the prosecuting attorney's and other social service agencies for support to victims and their families.
