CAMPBELL, Mo. -- A 44-year-old Campbell man was killed when his vehicle was struck by a train at 9:45 a.m. Saturday on Dunklin County Road 231, three miles northeast of Campbell.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Scotty L. Davis was southbound in a 1996 Buick when he failed to yield to an eastbound General Electric locomotive at a railroad crossing. The crossing had a Burlington Northern train signal device.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:26 a.m. by Dunklin County Deputy Coroner James Towell. Davis is the 60th fatality in Troop E this year.
