The Southeast Missouri Honor Orchestra will give a public performance this afternoon.
The orchestra is composed of 48 top high school string players primarily from Cape Girard-eau and Sikeston. One musician from Jackson and another from Ad-vance are members of the orchestra.
Edward Benyas, director of orchestras at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, will rehearse the orchestra this morning and this afternoon before conducting the 4 p.m. performance at the old Central High School gymnasium.
The program is under the direction of Steve Schaffner, orchestra director at Central High School.
