SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ALL-DISTRICT BAND TO APPEAR AT ROSE THEATER

The Southeast Missouri All-District Band, comprised of 100 high school musicians representing 21 area high schools, will perform in Rose Theater on Friday evening, March 11.

The concert will begin at 7 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. The All-District Band is comprised of musicians who were selected from an audition.

Dr. Victor A. Markovich is the director of the 1994 Southeast Missouri All-District Band. He is an associate professor of music, director of bands and winds/percussion studies at the Wichita State University School of Music.

Markovich conducts the Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble, assists with the concert band and administers and guides all aspects of the WSU band program.

Under his direction the WSU Symphonic Band/Wind Ensemble has performed for national, regional and state music conventions.

Marovich's bands have performed for the Illinois and Kansas Music Educators Association Conferences, Kansas Bandmasters Association Convention and National Band Association North Central Conferences.
