Ronald G. Eaglin, a 1962 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, was recently selected to be the 12th president of Morehead State University.

Eaglin, 51, currently is chancellor of the University of South Carolina's Coastal Carolina College at Conway and holds a bachelor's degree from Southeast in secondary education with majors in mathematics and biology education. Eaglin's wife Bonnie is a 1963 graduate of Southeast with a bachelor's degree in home economics. She majored in French and home economics.

The Morehead State University Board of Regents, on Feb. 28, offered Eaglin a four-year contract with the terms to be negotiated.

Eaglin will succeed Morehead State University President C. Nelson Grote, who will retire June 30 after serving as the university's chief executive officer since July 1, 1987.
