Sophomores from Missouri high schools have been chosen to attend the 1995 Missouri Scholars Academy, a three-week program to be held this summer at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Those from area high schools are: Jacquelyn B. Seabaugh, Meadow Heights High School; Derek N. Fenwick, Notre Dame High School; Ryan B. Kasten, Shannon L. Perry, Jackson High School; Elizabeth C. Kunz, Vicki A. Ventrella, Cape Central High School; Tori A. Patterson, Oran High School; Jessica D. Heironimus and Kelly A. Moss, Sikeston High School.
The Scholars Academy will be held June 11 to July 1. The goal of the academy is to provide gifted students with an intensive, challenging learning experience that cannot be matched in a regular high school. No grades or credit are awarded.
Participants are chosen on the basis of test scores, evidence of leadership and creativity, grades and personal essays.
