Some natural gas customers in Southeast Missouri will soon be paying 2 percent less on their next bill.
Union Electric reduced its rates 2 percent because of a decrease in natural gas prices, according to the Missouri Public Service Commission.
Because of the decrease, customers in the former SEMO District of the Missouri Utilities Co. will have their rates reduced.
The rate decrease began Wednesday.
The decrease for a typical customer amounts to about 35 cents a month.
But about 22,000 natural gas customers will see the 2 percent decrease.
