Some area schools are still dealing with poor road conditions and power outages from last week's ice storm, forcing closings or delayed openings. In Jackson and at the Kelly school district in Benton, school will be out of session not for weather related reasons, but due to a professional development day.

Other schools that reported closings or delayed opening or for which closings or delays were verified by the Southeast Missourian include:

Scott City public schools will open two hours late, with buses on snow routes only. Staff will report at normal time.

Meadow Heights school district will be closed.

Southeast Missouri State University's campuses in Malden, Sikeston and Kennett will be closed through the week.

Oak Ridge school buses will run on snow routes only.

The main campus of Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff and its campuses in Campbell, Kennett, Malden, Portageville and Sikeston will be closed through Saturday.
