JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Some Missouri residents are still waiting for a refund check on their individual state income taxes.

As of the start of this week, about 97 percent of the refunds had been issued. That trails a little behind last year.

Figures from the revenue department show 1.58 million refunds have been issued totaling more than $728 million. At a comparable point last year, the state had issued 1.64 million refunds totaling nearly $763 million.
