The Missouri Department of Transportation said the Springfield area got the worst of the snow storm.

Packed snow on the roads also slowed traffic on some major highways, including Interstate 44 between Springfield and Lebanon.

The National Weather Service said snow fell in a long band from Barry County southwest of Springfield up to the Lake of the Ozarks area. The snow was petering out Tuesday morning.
