Smith teaches art at Southeast Missouri State University. She agreed to display her work on relatively short notice. A previously scheduled exhibit was postponed, creating an opening for the month.

A resident of Jackson, Smith has recently exhibited her work with Art St. Louis, the St. Louis Women's Caucus, Yeiser Art Center in Paducah, and Womart, a local women's art group. She received her master's in fine arts from Michigan State University, where she lived for three years.

Gallery 100 is sponsored by the Southeast Missouri Council on the Arts as a community service, showcasing local, regional and national talent.

Gallery 100, which is open Monday through Friday from 1-4 p.m., is free to the public and receives financial assistance from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.
