The Southeast students selected to complete internships are Jody Diebold of Kelso, Mo., who will complete an internship at the University of Kansas Medical Center; Karen Harles, of Leslie, Mo., who will complete an internship at St. John's Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.; Cynthia Linneman of St. Charles, Mo., who will complete an internship at Saint Louis University; Caroline Williams of Jackson, Mo., who will complete an internship at ARAMARK Health Care Support Services Southwest at St. Joseph Health Center in Kansas City, Mo.; and Renee Proffer of Cape Girardeau and Angela Schubert of Millstadt, Ill., both of whom will complete internships at Southeast Missouri State University.

For dietetic students across the country, they await with great anticipation for Match Day a day in which fourth-year dietetic students nationwide learn simultaneously, via letter, where they will do their dietetics internship en route to becoming a registered dietitian. Dr. Marcia Nahikian-Nelms, chair of the Department of Human Environmental Studies, says Match Day is very similar to the day in which fourth-year medical students learn where they will do their medical residencies.

Upon completion of their internships, the students will take the Registration Examination for Dietitians. Those who pass will become registered dietitians.
