Single mom lost job Nov. 14

This mom with four children currently receives help with rent, utilities, groceries and children's medical expenses, but there is no money for new toys this Christmas. Mom reads and plays games with them. They use vouchers at the Thrift Stores for clothes. The 6-year-old would like learning toys and books for girls. The preschool children like toy cars, trucks, dolls, learning toys and books. Like the 1,200 children ages 1-12, being served locally by Toybox this year you can help make a meaningful Christmas! Bring new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian. Or you can make a monetary donation to Toybox, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO, 63702. Mrs. P doesn't get around any more

Mrs. P, 70, doesn't get around due to arthritis and diabetes. She has no family locally. Her limited income is used on necessities for her small apartment and for medical care. To help her through the winter months, she would appreciate some canned foods with no sugar. She could use a warm coat XXL, XL Haines stretch pants in gray or blue, Reebok tennis shoes size 6 1/2 wide, large black gloves, a blanket and full-size sheets. She lost her cat a few months ago, and needs a pet deposit at her new apartment. A specific donation to Mrs. P would be used for the deposit. This would make her Christmas truly bright! You can help Mrs. P and other needy elderly people in our area, by buying these needed items, including personal grooming and cleaning supplies, grocery gift cards and delivering to The Southeast Missourian. Or make a monetary donation to Christmas for the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702. All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any family members. They would appreciate your sharing spirit.
