Lewis, wearing shackles and the bright orange shirt and pants issued by the Scott County jail, sat quietly during discussion of the death of Alexis Janis Lewis, her 11-month-old daughter.

Wednesday's hearing was a continuation of court proceedings which began Oct. 3.
