A Sikeston, Missouri, woman is in custody in connection with charges of domestic assault and driving while revoked.
Jacqueline Mays of Sikeston, 26, was arrested Friday on charges of second-degree domestic assault and driving while revoked, according to a release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
Police responded Friday to a report of a disturbance in progress in Sikeston. Sheriff's deputy Danny Finley was told the suspect had fled the scene in a gold Pontiac Grand Prix, according to the release.
Finley saw a vehicle matching the description on Highway Y and conducted a traffic stop, according to police.
Mays was later identified as the driver of the Grand Prix, according to the release. Police said Mays was the suspect from the disturbance and her driving status was revoked in Missouri.
Sgt. Brant Pratt of the Sheriff's Department met with the alleged victim, who had been struck in the head numerous times and bitten on his ear, according to police.
Mays remains in custody in the Scott County Jail as of 1 p.m. Saturday. Bond has been set at $2,500 cash or surety, according to the release.
