The following information is taken from a news release put out by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety today:

A December robbery investigation has been upgraded to a homicide after a victim died from his injuries.

On December 7th, around 8:45 p.m., DPS Officers responded to 504 Lanning Street for a report of a robbery. Victims at the home said they answered to someone knocking on the front door and some subjects entered wearing ski masks and brandishing handguns. The suspects struck 45 year old Linnie Lee Andrews and 29 year old Dewayne Andrews in the head with their pistols. Upon arrival, Officers found Linnie Andrews unresponsive and Dewayne Andrews with a laceration above his right eye. South Scott County Ambulance arrived to transport Linnie Andrews to an awaiting Air Evac helicopter and he was then flown to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment. Dewayne Andrews was treated at the scene by EMS. Dewayne Andrews told Officers the subjects stole money from him during the robbery. There were several people inside the home during the robbery, including small children, but no one else was injured.

Since the robbery, Sikeston Detectives have been working on the case. Christmas morning, Sikeston DPS learned Mr. Linnie Andrews succumbed to his injuries and died while at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis. Detectives are now treating this investigation as a homicide. Maurice J. Robinson (29 of Sikeston) and Julius T. Hudson (22 of Sikeston) were arrested the night of the incident for their alleged part in the incident, while two others were still being sought.

Around 3:00 p.m. Christmas Day, Chief Drew Juden met with several of his Officers at DPS Headquarters. There, he organized search teams to look for the two remaining suspects, Fabayan L. Larry (22 of Sikeston) and Jeremiah Watson (30 of Sikeston). Both Larry and Watson were charged four days after the December 7th robbery, but their whereabouts were unknown. A few hours after implementing the search teams, Jeremiah Watson turned himself in to DPS. Several hours later, the SEMO Major Case Squad was activated in an effort to apprehend Fabayan Larry. Around 11:15 p.m., Officers located Mr. Larry hiding at a hotel in Charleston. Mr. Larry was taken into custody and taken to Sikeston's holding facility.

The Scott County Prosecutor has charged all four men with Robbery 1st, Assault 1st, Burglary 1st, and armed criminal action. These charges are likely to be amended due to the recent death of Mr. Andrews. Currently, all four subjects are being held on the above charges with each having a $50,000 cash only bond. This investigation continues as Medical Examiners attempt to determine the cause of death of Mr. Andrews.
