Sikeston Public Schools to resume classes Thursday; university event rescheduled

Sikeston Public Schools plans to resume classes on Thursday, a district employee said this morning. The school district last held classes on Jan. 26, before last week's storm knocked out power to residents in the community.

Southeast Missouri State University reported in a news release today that its College Goal Sunday event scheduled for Saturday at its Sikeston campus is postponed to Feb. 22.  The event is for high school seniors and their parents seeking college financial aid information, including assistance with completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form.
