Sikeston police seek suspect in close-call shooting

SIKESTON, Mo. -- A bullet narrowly missed a Sikeston man who was sitting inside his vehicle Thursday night.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety was searching Friday for a suspect who fired a gun at Christopher Jackson, 28, as he was sitting inside his vehicle behind a residence in the 300 block of Lee Street. It was the second shooting suspect the police department announced that it was looking for this week.

According to Lt. James McMillen, DPS public information officer, an unidentified subject fired a single bullet through the glass of the driver's side window at 10:20 p.m. Thursday. Based on the trajectory of the bullet, which exited the passenger's side door, the bullet just missed striking Jackson in the face, McMillen said.
