SIKESTON, Mo. -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Safety are asking for help in locating the suspect in a Friday night robbery.
Around 9 p.m., an employee of Fas Gas Express Convenience Store, located at 109 East St., reported a robbery. Once officers were on the scene, the employee said the assailant entered the store with a hand in his pocket and demanded money, said Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer with the Department.
"Believing the man had a weapon, he handed over the money from the register," said McMillen. "The suspect then left the store and ran from the area on foot."
The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion, between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds. The worker said he believed the man was in his 20s.
Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to contact DPS at 573-471-4711 or call the CrimeStoppers hotline, 573-471-1500. Callers may be eligible for a cash reward if they have information on the robbery that leads to a conviction.
