SIKESTON, Mo. -- Officers with the Sikeston Department of Public Safety continue their investigation into a vehicle assault that occurred Sunday night.
Around 10:30 p.m., DPS received a call of a hit-and-run assault that occurred at the intersection of Luther and Washington streets. A subject and his female cousin were walking south on Luther when they were struck by a vehicle, which then left the scene, said Lt. Dennis Irwin.
"The victims were able to identify the suspect," said Irwin, adding the two sustained minor injuries.
He declined to identify the female suspect, as charges have not yet been filed. The search is still on for her and the vehicle involved in the incident, a gray four-door 2001 Pontiac Grand Am with Missouri license place AC5-E9G. The vehicle has damage to the driver's side bumper and fender.
Anyone with more information is urged to contact DPS at 471-6200 or the CrimeStoppers hotline at 471-1500. All tips can remain confidential.
