SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Department of Public Safety is investigating what appears to be a severe beating.
At 1:23 a.m. Thursday, officers received a report from workers operating a solid waste collection truck about a man found in an alley between Greer and Matthews avenues, said Capt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for the department.
"They just found him laying there," McMillen said. "He was unconscious, obviously injured, so they called us, got EMS out there."
The victim, identified as Clint Jobe, was taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center for treatment and later taken to a hospital in Cape Girardeau for additional tests and medical exams, he said.
