SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston Department of Public Safety officer received minor injuries while on a drug-related call Friday night.
According to the DPS incident report, at 7:49 p.m. Friday, a call was received regarding narcotics sales in the 1500 block of Osage Street, near the intersection of Luther Street.
Upon arrival, the officer located a suspect with narcotics and began to make an arrest. According to DPS officials, the suspect then tried to run and the officer caught him, after which a brief altercation occurred, leaving the officer with several minor lacerations.
