A Sikeston, Missouri, man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 7:20 a.m. Sunday on Highway 102, 8 miles south of East Prairie, Missouri, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report. A Sikeston, Missouri, man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at 7:20 a.m. Sunday on Highway 102, 8 miles south of East Prairie, Missouri, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

A 2000 Ford Explorer, driven by Heather D. Steelman, 23, of Sikeston was northbound, the report said. The driver lost control on a curve, traveled off the right side of the road and overturned, ejecting the passenger, 24-year-old Chad A. Harden, the report said.

Harden was taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston and was pronounced dead by Dr. Faris Al'Gebory, the report said.

Steelman was taken by helicopter to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, the report said. Steelman was treated and released, Emily Blattel, account services coordinator for Saint Francis, said in an email to the Southeast Missourian.
