SCOTT CITY -- A 65-year-old Sikeston man sustained serious injuries Monday afternoon when his pickup truck ran off I-55 and struck an embankment about five miles south of Scott City.

Bruce Keith was taken to St. Francis Medical Center after the 2:50 p.m. accident. He was listed in satisfactory condition late Monday night.

A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said Keith's southbound vehicle ran off the west shoulder of the roadway, came back across the road through the median, then crossed the northbound lanes before striking the embankment.
