Sikeston man gets 10 years on child porn charge

A Sikeston, Mo., man who admitted downloading hundreds of child pornography images was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison.

Danny Clayton White, 39, was sentenced on one felony federal count of possession of child pornography. Upon release from prison, he will be placed on supervised release for the remainder of his life. He appeared before U.S. District Judge Stephen N. Limbaugh Jr. in Cape Girardeau.

White admitted that between about July 1 and Sept. 1, 2008, he used a laptop computer to find child pornography on the Internet. The computer and hard drive were given to law enforcement officers for analysis Sept. 17.

Forensic analysis of the computer revealed that White possessed more than 600 image files, including more than 65 video files, of child pornography, that is images of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Some of the images depicted children younger than 12.
