A Sikeston, Mo., man was arrested Saturday after witness testimony linked him to an Aug. 15 shooting that injured a 21-year-old Cape Girardeau man.
Corey Eurekas Turner, 17, was one of four suspects arrested the day of the shooting and later released due to a lack of evidence.
Turner is accused of shooting the 21-year-old around 3:30 a.m. at the intersection of Bloomfield and Hanover streets in Cape Girardeau. The first officer on scene arrived to more than 100 people gathered around the victim, who was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.
He was transported to an area hospital.
Turner has been charged by the Cape Girardeau County prosecuting attorney's office with first-degree assault and armed criminal action, both felonies.
He was scheduled to make his first court appearance at 3 p.m. Monday and is being held on a $100,000 bond.
