SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston's leaf collection will begin as soon as it is dry enough to begin collecting
them.
"Our collection program was to have started today," street superintendent Steve Lee said Monday. "The rain caused us to hold off."
Lee had hoped they could have begun Tuesday with collection operations in the northwest and southwest quadrants.
"If the rain lightens up and stays light, we will be out," he said.
Weather permitting, all residents should put their leaves out for the first collection as soon as
possible.
Lee said tentative times and dates for the city compost site to be open residents to drop off leaves are 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday from Nov. 23 through Dec. 23, excluding
holidays.
