SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston police are looking for a man who attempted to abduct and sexually assault a 14-year-old Sikeston girl Monday.
The incident happened as the victim walked home from school. Police said she girl claimed she was approached by a man driving a dark green Hummer with Illinois license plates. When she refused to get into the vehicle with the suspect, he grabbed her and pulled her into the Hummer.
He held her as he tried to sexually assault her, but she was able to push him away and escape, police said.
She received minor injuries.
The victim told police the same suspect also approached her the previous Friday in a white Chevrolet Cavalier with Illinois registration.
She described him as a black man with braided hair. He is believed to be between the ages of 18 and 25, has a dark complexion, muscular build and a tattoo on the upper arm of a child's face and the name "Woody" under it. He was wearing a diamond earring in his right ear and a ring with the letter K on it.
