SIKESTON -- A fire that burned a woman's mobile home on Labor Day was started by two teen-age boys according to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

The fire occurred Monday at approximately 5 p.m. when two boys found a book of matches. One of the boys struck a match and then stepped on it, thinking the match was out.

However, the fire was not out and sparked a patch of grass. The wind blew the fire into the mobile home, burning through the underpinning.

The mobile home was a complete loss. Donations for the victim, Kim Wylde and her two sons are currently being taken at the Wendy's restaurant on East Malone Avenue.
