SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston couple was arrested Friday after police reportedly discovered drugs and drug paraphernalia in their home after responding to a medical assistance call.
Ada Blagg, 31, and James Johnson, 33, have both been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to a news release from the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
Scott County deputies responded to a call to assist a 34-year-old Sikeston man who had stopped breathing after injecting the contents of a Fentanyl patch, the release said. After further investigation, officials obtained and executed a search warrant and found Fentanyl patches along with other prescription medications, methamphetamine, cocaine, pipes, syringes and other paraphernalia. Police also found an assault rifle and other loaded firearms.
Blagg and Johnson remained in custody Tuesday morning; both have a $25,000 cash bond.
