A bill extending the Ward 3 boundaries to include this newly-annexed parcel was also read for the first time. The second reading and consideration for this bill are slated during the special Sikeston council meeting Feb. 28.

The college requested the annexation after it was donated to the school in May. The land will be used to establish a regional campus.
